Left 4 Dead 2 (abbreviated as L4D2) is a cooperativefirst-person shooter video game and the sequel to Valve Corporation's award-winning Left 4 Dead. The game launched on November 17, 2010, for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 in the United States and November 20 in Europe; in 2010, Left 4 Dead 2 was made available to the Steam client for Mac OS X;^[4] on May 3, 2013 a port of the beta development branch of the game was made available through Steam for Linux.^[5]Left 4 Dead 2 builds upon the cooperatively-focused gameplay and Valve's proprietary Source engine, the same game engine used in the original Left 4 Dead. Set during the aftermath of an apocalypticpandemic, Left 4 Dead 2 focuses on four new Survivors, fighting against hordes of the Infected, who develop severe psychosis and exhibit zombie-like tendencies. The Survivors must fight their way through five campaigns, interspersed with safe houses that act as checkpoints, with the goal of escape at each campaign's finale. The gameplay is procedurally altered by the 'AI Director 2.0', which monitors the players' performance and adjusts the scenario to provide a dynamic challenge. Other new features include new types of Special Infected and an arsenal of melee weapons.^[6]
The game made its world premiere at E3 2009 with a trailer during the Microsoft press event.^[7] Prior to release, it received a combination of positive and negative critical and community reactions. It attracted an unusually high volume of pre-release controversy about the game's graphic content. In response, alterations were made to the cover art^[8] and both Australia (due to having no R18+ rating at the time) and Germany refused to rate the unmodified edition.^[9] After release however, the game was met with positive reviews.

I don’t think any amount of age will ever make this game die in terms of how fun it truely is and how well designed it is with it’s replayable gameplay and teamwork factor. If you want a gem of a co-op zombie game that’s cheap as hell without any paid DLC attached at all and with seemingly infinite replayability, then this is for you. Especially if you ever played and loved the first Left 4 Dead, this one has everything that game had including the original campaigns and characters, but more on top of that. It’s super easy to mod the game too while in game, which only adds more room for creative fun easily without doing the tedious nature of juggling mods in and out of your games files with folders and crap.

I will however say it has a few minor bugs that can sometimes happen and get annoying, but all the good things this game offers makes me ignore the very small amount of rare issues that happen. None of those rare occuring issues are even game breaking at all especially once you get used to how to play the game efficiently.

So in fairness, I’ll give this game a 9.5/10 to newcomers just cause of the small issues. However if you’re like me and don’t care about the rare bugs that don’t even hurt the game much at all, I personally think this game deserves a rating of 10/10 if you overlook those small and rare nitpick complaints like I do.
