For those who don't know/remember, there used to be a cheat code to access the Mad Eddy Shop in the old DOS version. At this shop you could get infinite gold, which really made the beginning of the game much easier. Well its not in this version, so if anyone has any pointers on how to get rich fast, please share! I'm afraid i spoiled myself by relying on infinite gold too much back in the day.

  1. Visit that site and click the GET IT! button to download it. Save it to C:GamesPrincess2 (which you must create yourself).
  2. - http://sourceforge.net/projects/dosbox/files/dosbox/0.74/DOSBox0.74-win32-installer.exe/download
  3. Download that and save it inside of the same folder as Princess Maker 2.
  4. - Run the DOSBox installer and tell it to install to:
  5. C:GamesPrincess2
  6. Make sure there aren't any extra folders listed after 'Princess2'. You can simply copy and paste that line into the installer to make it install properly.
  7. - Once that is installed, run DOSBox.exe and at the Z:> prompt, type:
  8. config -writeconf dosbox.conf
  9. then
  10. exit
  11. which will close DOSBox.
  12. - Inside of the C:GamesPrincess2 folder, there should be a file called 'dosbox.conf'. Right-click it and select 'Open' which is at the top of the list. Select Notepad to open it and scroll all the way to the bottom of the file. It should look like this:

  14. # You can put your MOUNT lines here.
  15. - After the last line (# You can put your MOUNT lines here.), press enter then paste this:
  16. mount c c:gamesprincess2
  17. cd pm2
  18. into the file, save it and close it.
  19. - Extract 'Princess Maker 2.zip' to C:GamesPrincess2 by right-clicking the file and selecting 'Winzip -> Extract here'. It will extract everything to C:GamesPrincess2pm2 on its own.
  20. - Run DOSBox.exe again and at the C:PM2> prompt, type:
  21. dosinst
  22. which will install the game.
  23. - Press the down arrow to highlight 'Change setup options' and press enter.
  24. - Press the down arrow to highlight 'Change sound driver' and press enter. Then press down until you highlight 'MIDI + Sound Blaster' then press enter.
  25. - Select the 'Quit' option then press enter. Type in 'exit' at the prompt to exit from DOSBox.
  26. - Open up the dosbox.conf file again and paste:
  27. mount c c:gamesprincess2
  28. cd pm2
  29. OVER the existing commands at the bottom of the file (or you can just press enter at the end of 'cd pm2' and add 'pm2' to it). Save and close the file.
  30. - Run DOSBox.exe and play the game! :D If you wish to exit the game, you'll have to press Alt+Tab or the Windows button on your keyboard to select another window and press the X in the upper right corner.
